In a previous article I outlined half a dozen reasons to own your own home based business on the internet. After looking at the list I realized there are many more great reasons you should start your business online. Here are 6 more great reasons:
1 - Profit is not limited to hours in a day.
In a traditional job you are paid for the number of hours you work in a day. When you own a business you are paid on how much profit the business generates. In a traditional business your owners of operation are limited to when your customers will come into your store.
Neither of these are a factor in your profit potential when running a business online. The intent never closes and your customers are global so they are always online. Even if you are asleep your online business is open for sales.
But that is not the end of the profit potential. Because internet businesses are easy and have a low start up cost you can own and easily operate more than one business online. With the internet you are not restricted to anything and the reality of multiple streams of income is easily achievable.
2 - Freedom to do what you want when you want.
In a traditional job you are forced to work a set number of hours within a set number of days a week. With an internet business you can work when you want to and for how long you want to. Not only that but running your own profitable business will give you the financial means to do the things you most want to do.
Imagine for a moment about what you would do if your annual income were to double? What if it tripled or quadrupled?
The reality is that this will not happen the first month you start your internet business. But, depending on how skilled you are working with computers (as well as how much you understand about marketing), it could take you a year or more to double your income.
But think about that, too! If you are making, say, $2,500 per month in your 9-5 day job right now, you'd love an extra $1,250 per month, right? So, imagine if you could earn this much extra income within a few months of going into business online? It's not only realistic, but likely - if you follow a solid business model.
3- Automation is easy online
I should have put this one at the top of the list but I love money and my freedom so it is #3. That being said automation is up there among the top benefits of owning an Internet business. Think of automation like employees in a traditional business but having computers do the work instead of people. There is almost nothing that can't be automated online.
One of the most common ways automation is used online is with 'customer/potential customer' follow up.
In an offline business, you usually have to meet with people face-to-face, call them on the phone or send them personalized letters. This takes time, money and effort from your staff. In an Internet business, however, all of your promotional and sales material can be sent via email.
Better yet, there is software out there called autoresponders that will automatically send emails to your customers. These emails can be written and uploaded just once into the 'autoresponder'. After that, you just "set it and forget it". The autoresponder does all the work for you.
Automation means more time for you to focus on growing your business instead of doing the day to day mundane tasks.
4- Internet Businesses are portable.
It is pretty common in today's coffee shop to see people working away on laptops. This can be you, working in your favorite coffee shop running your online business. You are not confined to the walls of your house or an office. You just need access to the internet and you are free to run your business from where ever you desire. And with the growth in wi-fi networks and internet hand held devices the portability of your "office" is increasing every day.
5 - Recession. What Recession?
The internet is a global community and when one part of the world is in a recession anther part is booming. For this reason internet businesses are virtually recession-proof. Of course, blips in the global economy can have an impact on overall sales, but strong markets are always going to have buyers. There will always be someone, somewhere, who wants what you're selling and has the money to buy it from you.
6 - You are the boss and have the final say.
For some this is the most important reason to own a home based business. As a business owner you are 'the boss', and you get to call the shots. You get to make decisions about the best course of action your business should take. As the owner you can get a massive boost of self esteem when the money rolls in from your efforts. On the other hand, losing money because of a decision you make can be humbling too. But, the trust and confidence you gain in yourself from both experiences is well worth it and can serve you in other areas of life, too!
